A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Collin Cowgill played for the University of Kentucky and was selected in Round 5 of the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, reaching the Major Leagues with that team in 2011. In 2012 Cowgill played in the Majors for the Oakland Athletics, and in 2013 for the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Angels, continuing to play for the Angels through the 2015 season. In 2016 Cowgill played for the Cleveland Indians. Between 2017 and 2019, he played for teams affiliated with the San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals. Cowgill is currently the Manager of the Arkansas Travelers, the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
