A native of Fontana, California, Greg Colbrunn was selected in Round 6 of the 1987 MLB Amateur Draft by the Montreal Expos, and reached the Major Leagues in 1992. He subsequently played for the Florida Marlins, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Seattle Mariners. Following his retirement as a player, Colbrunn became a coach with the Yankees organization, serving as the hitting coach for the Single-A Charleston RiverDogs in 2007-2009 and 2011-2012, and as Manager in 2010. In 2013, Colbrunn was the Hitting Coach for the World Champion Boston Red Sox. Beginning in 2015, Greg returned to Charleston to resume his coaching duties with the RiverDogs.
